Mosima Gabriel Sexwale, also known as Tokyo Sexwale, is a businessman and former South African minister of human settlements, recognized for his role as an anti-apartheid activist and political prisoner. He was imprisoned on Robben Island alongside Nelson Mandela due to his anti-apartheid activities. After South Africa's first democratic elections in 1994, he became the first premier of Gauteng province. Sexwale left politics in 1998 to focus on business but returned as minister of human settlements in 2009 for a four-year term.
