Mostafa Chamran was an Iranian politician and a key figure in post-revolution Iran, serving as Minister of Defense in the first government after the Islamic Revolution, as well as the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and a member of the Iranian Parliament representing Tehran. Before the revolution, he was a prominent aide to Musa al-Sadr and a co-founder of the Lebanese Movement of the Deprived and its military wing, Amal. He was killed on June 21, 1981, during the Iran-Iraq War.
