Motasem al-Ali was a Palestinian military leader born on January 27, 1998, in Nur Shams Refugee Camp in Tulkarem. He served as a commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, and was one of the founders of the Tulkarem battalion. Recognized as a prominent target by Israel, he was accused of carrying out armed attacks against them and was labeled a significant terrorist figure, leading to his assassination by Israeli forces on February 7, 2024, during the Israeli-Palestinian War of 2023–2024.
