Motoaki Makino is a Japanese guitarist and music director born on February 11, 1956. He moved to the United States in 1986 and graduated from Berklee College of Music. In 1989, he relocated to Chicago, where he performed under the name Moto Makino and was a member of the Sugar Blue Band for 14 years. He returned to Japan in 2004 and has since based his activities in Tokyo. In November 2022, he relocated to Okinawa.
