He played in various hockey leagues, including the U.S. Hockey League and the American Hockey League. Notably known as 'Mr. Hockey' in Omaha, Nebraska, he received the Wm. Thayer Tutt Award from USA Hockey in 2002. His nickname 'Motto' came from his childhood resemblance to Mr. Moto, a character played by Peter Lorre. He passed away on July 10, 2019.
