Mr Egg, born Matthew Egbert Wand on January 7, 1959, in Inverness, Scotland, is a Scottish musician recognized as one of the pioneers of British Acid House Music. In 1984, he formed the band Egebamyasi, named after the album 'Ege Bamyasi' by the Turkish band Can, which translates to 'Okra Pods' in Turkish. His influence on the music scene is notable, especially in the Acid House genre.
