Al-Adnani taught in several Arab countries and ended his career as a teacher at the Syrian University and then at the University of Aleppo. He changed his last name from 'Khurshid' to 'al-Adnani' in 1936. He authored several poetry collections, studies, dictionaries, and stories. He passed away on August 5, 1981, in Beirut.
