Muhammad al-Adnani was a Palestinian poet, novelist, and linguist born on March 26, 1903, in Jenin. He studied in Jenin, Gaza, and Tulkarm before earning his degree from the American University of Beirut in 1927. Al-Adnani taught in several Arab countries and ended his career as a teacher at the Syrian University and then at the University of Aleppo. He changed his last name from 'Khurshid' to 'al-Adnani' in 1936. He authored several poetry collections, studies, dictionaries, and stories. He passed away on August 5, 1981, in Beirut.
