Prior to this, he was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh for two terms: from 2002 to 2007 and from 2008 to 2013. During his latter term in the Provincial Assembly, he held various ministerial positions in the Sindh cabinet, contributing to regional governance until his passing.
