Muhammad Hamid Abu al-Nasr was the fourth Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, serving from 1986 until his death in 1996. Born on March 25, 1913, he became involved in social and Islamic work in the early 1930s and joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1934. He was imprisoned in 1954 but resumed his activities after his release. Under his leadership, the Brotherhood saw significant political activity and representation in the Egyptian parliament. He was elected following the death of Omar al-Telmisany.
