Muhammad Vaez-Zadeh Khorasani was an Iranian Shia Islamic scholar, researcher, and contemporary thinker born on February 24, 1926, in Mashhad, Iran, and he passed away on December 18, 2016. He served as the Deputy President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars and was a proponent of rapprochement between Islamic sects. He was the first Secretary-General of the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and the founder and first president of the University of Islamic Schools of Thought in Tehran. He studied under prominent religious authorities.
