Muhsin Hendricks is a South African Imam, born in 1970, who is recognized as the world's first openly gay Imam. In 1996, he founded The Inner Circle, an organization aimed at the social and spiritual advancement of sexually diverse groups. Notably, he was invited to discuss his views with the Islamic Social Welfare Council, an organization that had previously excluded him due to his sexual orientation. Hendricks also serves on the international advisory board of the Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung.
