Mukhtar Askad (born December 23, 1920) is an Uzbek Soviet writer. A member of the CPSU since 1954, he graduated from the Central Asian State University in 1942. His first work was published in 1938, and he gained recognition with his poem 'Bolat balqytushy' in 1947. Notable works include 'My Countrymen' (1949), 'City of Steelworkers' (1950), and 'Sisters' (1954), with the latter being his most significant work. He also translated various works into Uzbek, enriching the literary landscape.
