Muktar Said Ibrahim, born on January 24, 1978, is an Eritrean-British individual convicted for his role in the attempted 21 July 2005 attacks on London's public transport. He tried to detonate a device on a bus and was arrested soon after. Originally from Asmara, Eritrea, he moved to the UK as a child and was granted residency in 1992. Ibrahim had a criminal history, including a five-year prison sentence for robbery in 1996. His family has publicly distanced themselves from his actions and were reportedly unaware of his terrorist involvement.
