Murali Sastry (born 1959) is an Indian physical chemist and nanoscientist, currently serving as the CEO of the IITB-Monash Research Academy. He is a former chief scientist at Tata Chemicals and a former senior scientist at the National Chemical Laboratory. Known for his research in surface, film, and material chemistry, he is a elected fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences and the Indian Academy of Sciences. In 2002, he was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for his contributions to chemical science, one of India's highest science research awards.
