Rev Murdo Ewen Macdonald (1914-2004) was a Scottish minister who became a boxing champion in his youth. He served as a chaplain during World War II, where he was taken prisoner of war, later earning a Bronze Star Medal for his counseling work. After the war, he held ministerial positions in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and served as a professor of practical theology at Trinity College. Macdonald was recognized by the University of St Andrews with an honorary degree. He passed away in Glasgow in 2004.
