Murdoc Faust Niccals, born Murdoc Alphonce Niccals on June 6, 1966, is a fictional British bassist and musician known as the leader of the virtual band Gorillaz. Created by singer Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett, he is voiced by Phil Cornwell. Murdoc first appeared in the band's 2000 debut single 'Tomorrow Comes Today'. In 2018, he was imprisoned and did not participate in the band's sixth album.
