Mustafa Başoğlu was a prominent Turkish labor leader and politician, born in Trabzon in 1933. He was the first general president of the Turkish Health Workers' Union, contributing significantly to labor rights from the 1960s onward. He served as a member of parliament for the Justice Party in Ankara starting in 1977 and was involved in the Health and Social Affairs Commission. In 1994, he was appointed chief advisor to President Süleyman Demirel. He passed away on January 31, 2012, at the age of 78 and was buried in the Tâceddîn Dergâhı in Ankara.
