Demiralp has held various important positions including Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the WTO, Deputy Chair of UNCTAD, and Ambassador to Bern. He served as Turkey's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva and as Secretary General for the EU. Bilingual in English and French, he is married with two children.
