Myint Swe is a Burmese politician born on June 24, 1951. He currently serves as the acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and previously held the position of First Vice President. He became the Acting President following the resignation of President Htin Kyaw in March 2018. Myint Swe has also served as the Chief Minister of Yangon Region from March 2011 to March 2016. A former military officer of Mon descent, he achieved the rank of General and has held various military and governmental roles throughout his career.
