Mykhailo Makarenko is a Ukrainian obstetrician-gynecologist and politician, born on April 9, 1950, in Polonne, Khmelnytskyi Oblast. He is a recognized Honored Doctor of Ukraine since 1999, and currently heads the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University. He was previously a member of the now-banned pro-Russian political party, Opposition Platform — For Life, and serves as a People's Deputy of Ukraine in the 9th convocation.
