Natarajan Somasundaram, popularly known as N. V. N. Somu, was an Indian politician who served as the Minister of State for Defence. He was a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party and was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chennai North constituency in 1984 and 1996. Somu was the son of DMK leader N. V. Natarajan and tragically passed away in a helicopter crash on November 14, 1997, while on official duty. His daughter, Kanimozhi NVN Somu, is also involved in politics with the DMK.
