Major General Nabil Shukri (October 24, 1930 – July 15, 2019), born in Cairo, was a prominent Egyptian military leader during the War of Attrition and the October War. He joined the Military Academy in 1948, graduating in 1950. Shukri led the Egyptian paratroopers and was involved in critical military preparations against Israeli attacks. He later became the head of the War College. He was known for his opposition to unauthorized military actions but followed President Sadat's orders, including a notable operation in Cyprus. He passed away at the age of 89.
