Nafees Bin Zafar is a Bangladeshi software engineer and animation specialist residing in the United States, born on October 8, 1978. He made history by being the first Bangladeshi to receive the Scientific and Technical Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2007. He won this award for his work in fluid animation on the Hollywood film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End,' in collaboration with colleagues Dug Robel and Rio Sakaguchi from Digital Domain. He won the same award again in 2015.
