Naim Araidi was a Druze academic and writer from Arab 48, renowned for his poetry in both Arabic and Hebrew. He was born on April 2, 1950, in the village of Maghar in the Galilee. Although he was nominated to serve as Israel's ambassador to New Zealand, the appointment did not materialize. Instead, he became the ambassador to Norway in June of the same year; however, he was forced to resign in 2014 due to allegations of sexual harassment.
