Naja Marie Aidt is a Danish poet and writer born on December 24, 1963, in Aasiaat, Greenland. She spent part of her childhood in Greenland and later moved to Vesterbro, Copenhagen. Her first poetry book, 'Så længe jeg er ung', was published in 1991. Aidt became a full-time writer in 1993 and received a Danish scholarship for three years in 1994. In 2008, she won the Nordic Council Literature Prize for her short story collection 'Bavian' and moved to Brooklyn, New York shortly thereafter.
