Najma Chowdhury (February 26, 1942 - August 8, 2021) was a prominent Bangladeshi educator, known for founding the Department of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Dhaka. She held the position of Emeritus Professor in the department and served as an advisor to the caretaker government of Bangladesh in 1996. In 2007, she was nominated for the Rokeya Chair by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2008 for her contributions to education and women's rights.
