Najuma 'Nancy' Fletcher is a former Guyanese track and field athlete, born on May 31, 1974. She excelled in high jump and heptathlon, competing in the 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games and the 1992 Summer Olympics. At the University of Pittsburgh, she won 14 All-America honors and was the first woman to win an NCAA track title. Fletcher holds multiple championships and was named Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1996. She is married to Brett Shields and has two children, one of whom plays volleyball at the University of South Carolina.
