Nakamura Etsuko (born November 26, 1934) is a Japanese researcher in children's literature and a scholar of early childhood education. Born in Tochigi Prefecture, she graduated from Tsuda College in 1957 and later conducted research at Ochanomizu University. She held academic positions at Sakushin Gakuin Women's Junior College and Otsuma Women's University, where she became a professor. Awarded for her work 'The World of Children's Picture Magazines' in 1989, she became a professor emeritus in 2003 and has been a part-time lecturer at Utsunomiya Junior College.
