Nancy Laura Spungen (January 27, 1958 – October 12, 1978) was an American figure and the girlfriend of English guitarist Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols band. Growing up in Philadelphia, Nancy faced emotional struggles and was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age. Her turbulent life, marked by drug abuse and domestic violence with Vicious, caught media attention. After the Sex Pistols disbanded, they moved to New York, where Nancy was found dead in their hotel room from a stab wound. Sid was charged but died from a heroin overdose before the trial.
