Naoto Shibata is a Japanese heavy metal bassist born on May 10, 1958. He began his career in 1981 with the band Anthem, where he quickly became the sole original member and leader until their breakup in 1992. In 1994, he joined Loudness and remained with them until the original lineup's reunion in 2000, after which he reformed Anthem. Additionally, he released a solo cover album in 1999 and several albums featuring video game music covers in the 1990s as part of his Naoto Shibata Project.
