Natty U, born Ulrich Schmidt-Salm, was a prominent German reggae singer and music producer. Born on February 20, 1956, in Dortmund, he rose to fame in the 1980s, becoming one of Germany's most successful reggae musicians and one of the few whose music gained recognition in Jamaica. Natty U was also known as the first well-known white reggae singer in Germany. He passed away on March 25, 2005, in Essen.
