Nazeer Abbasi was the youngest member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Pakistan. Born on April 10, 1953, he was killed on August 9, 1980, during the regime of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. At the time of his death, he was in the custody of the Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Pakistan Army. There were allegations from his family that he was tortured to death by Brigadier Imtiaz Ahmed Billa, a former ISI operative, who later even confessed to this in a televised interview.
