Neal Bradley Long, known as The Shotgun Slayer, was an American serial killer active between 1972 and 1975 in Dayton, Ohio. He attacked at least 21 African-American men, resulting in the deaths of between four and seven individuals, with an additional 14 wounded. Long's motives stemmed from outrage against desegregation. After his capture, he confessed to the crimes and pleaded guilty, leading to multiple life sentences. He died in a federal prison in Minnesota in 1998.
