John Wayman Stanley, nicknamed 'Neck', was an American Negro league pitcher active from the 1920s to the 1940s. He was born on May 9, 1905, in Kent County, Maryland, and attended Chester High School in Pennsylvania. Stanley debuted in 1928 with the Bacharach Giants and spent the majority of his career with the New York Black Yankees. Notably, he threw a no-hitter in 1936 for the New York Cubans and another in 1948 while pitching for the Black Yankees. He passed away on January 1, 1959, at the age of 53.
