Neera Arya (March 5, 1902 - July 26, 1999) was a soldier in the Rani Jhansi Regiment of the Azad Hind Fauj. She is known for her bravery, having sacrificed her husband to save Subhas Chandra Bose's life. Nicknamed 'Neera Nagini' by Bose, she was regarded as a spy by the British government. Her life inspired poems and a film, celebrated as a patriotic and proud woman. She spent her later years in Hyderabad, where she was affectionately called 'Padmama' by local women. The Neera Arya Award was established in her honor.
