Négovan Rajic is a Québécois short story writer and playwright born on June 24, 1923, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He arrived in Canada in 1969. Rajic was involved in the resistance during 1944, fighting for his country and later studied engineering at the University of Belgrade. After enduring imprisonment in Austria, Italy, and Germany, he moved to France in 1947, working as a laborer and freelance radio worker. Upon his arrival in Quebec, he became a mathematics professor at Cégep de Trois-Rivières.
