Nel van der Zee, born Pieternella Cornelia Kamp-Van der Zee in Brussels on March 7, 1921, was a Flemish author known for her Christian children's books, family sagas, and regional novels. Writing in Dutch, she published over 200 titles, including 50 novels, with nearly 1.5 million copies sold. She began her career in 1951 and gained popularity in the 1960s through the Witte Raven series. In her later years, she focused on regional and family stories, with her last novel published in January 2016. Van der Zee passed away at the age of 95 on September 16, 2016.
