She gained significant popularity through her appearances in Ramadan specials, earning her the title of "Queen of Ramadan Specials." She was born in Cairo to an Egyptian family with Armenian roots. Nelly is the sister of actress Fairouz, known as the "child prodigy" Fairouz, and the niece of actress Lubna. She started her career at the young age of four in the film "Al-Haraman" and later appeared in films like "Asafer Al-Janna," "Hatta Naltaqi," and "Toba." She demonstrated her talent for acting, singing, and dancing, honed by her father from a young age. She also participated in the television series "Al-Ramal Al-Nae'ma" and the stage play "Oua'i Ta'akkar Damik." She was praised by the audience for her performance in the play and received support from the Rihani troupe, particularly from Mary Munib. She was later chosen by director Mohamed Alwan to collaborate with musical legend Mohamed Abdel Wahab in the radio series "Shay' Min Al-'Azaab," which led to her success in her first film, "Al-Murahaqa Al-Saghira." She went on to star in numerous films and plays, including "Al-Daloua," "Dala' Al-Banat," and "Inqelab." She formed a successful duo with actor Salah Zulfikar, appearing in seven films together, and another with Mahmoud Yassin, appearing in 12 films and a television series. She is a recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including the Golden Pyramid Award for Lifetime Achievement at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2021. She is known for her work in various genres, including drama, comedy, and musicals, and has contributed significantly to the Egyptian entertainment industry.
