Nelu Dumitrescu, born Ioan Dumitrescu on November 5, 1954, in Bucharest, is a Romanian rock drummer and a founding member of the band Iris formed in 1977 alongside guitarist Ion Olteanu and bassist Emil Lechințeanu. Following the split of the classic lineup of Iris in 2017, he continues to perform with the branch called Iris Nelu Dumitrescu, of which he is the leader.
