He is recognized as the inventor of compas, also known as compas direct, a popular style of Haitian music. Nicknamed 'maestro,' he composed many songs, including the famous 'Ti Carole,' dedicated to a fan. His musical group performed in New York's nightclubs during the early 1970s, and his works often celebrated women and healthy relationships. He passed away on May 18, 1985.
