He is remembered as one of the deadliest criminals in Belgium during the 20th century, before the infamous Marc Dutroux rose to notoriety. Pirotte was convicted of murdering three individuals and is suspected of being involved in four other murders, showcasing a violent criminal background that left a significant mark on Belgian crime history. He passed away on July 29, 2000.
