Nevzat Kösoğlu was a Turkish politician and writer born on October 7, 1940, in İspir, Erzurum, and passed away on October 10, 2013, in Ankara. He graduated from Istanbul University with degrees in law and journalism. He served as the president of the Turkish Hearths Educational and Cultural Foundation and worked as a journalist. A member of the MHP, he was elected as a member of parliament for Erzurum in 1977. After the 1980 coup, he spent a year and a half in prison and later focused on literary works, publishing a series on Turkish literature abroad.
