He served as the Member of Parliament for Tanjong from 2013 to 2018 and was previously the Penang State Assemblyman for Komtar from 2008 to 2013. A member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), he was dropped as a candidate in the 2018 elections. Ng has served as the political secretary to Lim Guan Eng and is a qualified Property Manager. He holds a law degree from the University of London and has authored books on property management.
