Nicholas Matthew 'Peanut' Baines, born on March 21, 1978, in Leeds, is an English keyboardist and a member of the indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs. He studied at Newcastle University for four years. Known for his signature hat and being the most teased member of the band, Peanut often stands at the edge of the stage clapping while his bandmates leave him momentarily unnoticed. He is a vegetarian and was nominated for the title of '2008's sexiest vegetarian' alongside his bandmate Andrew White.
