Nicholas Royle, born in 1963 in Manchester, is an English writer known for publishing over one hundred works. He received the August Derleth Award for his short story 'Night Shift Sister.' Royle has created several anthologies, notably 'Darklands' and 'Darklands 2,' which became highly successful. He is also the author of four novels that blend elements of fantasy, including 'Conterparts,' 'Saxophone Dreams,' 'The Matter of the Heart,' and 'The Director's Cut.' The novel 'Saxophone Dreams' is set in Europe in the year 1989. He currently resides in Manchester.
