Nicholas Gorshenin (1922-2005) was a prominent Australian politician and businessman. He was a shark meshing contractor and served as an alderman for North Sydney Council. Gorshenin was one of the founders of the Liberal Reform Group, which later evolved into the Australia Party. His political efforts significantly impacted the 1972 elections, aiding the Australian Labor Party in ending a long-standing Liberal Country Party rule. Eventually, the Australia Party joined forces with the Democrats, resulting in the formation of the Australian Democrats.
