Nico Schaap was a Dutch actor and opera singer born in Amsterdam on February 26, 1946. He is known for his roles in popular television series such as Baantjer, Medisch Centrum West, and Vuurzee. Schaap portrayed the character Bredero in the regional soap opera Van Jonge Leu en Oale Groond but had to leave the role after two seasons due to a heart attack, just before the filming of the third season. He passed away at the age of 63 on September 19, 2009, due to cancer.
