Nico Jan Hendrik van der Linden was a Dutch pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor born on February 4, 1950, in Amsterdam. He initially studied at Muzieklyceum Amsterdam and later focused on light music, particularly cabaret. He collaborated with numerous artists, including Sylvia Alberts and Ramses Shaffy, and worked as an orchestra leader for various musicals. Van der Linden also had a film role and penned the Ramses Shaffy Songbook. Unfortunately, he passed away from esophageal cancer on October 7, 2021, shortly after being knighted in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
