Ali Nihat Gökyiğit was a prominent Turkish civil engineer, businessman, and founder of the TEMA Foundation. Born on February 23, 1925, in Artvin, he graduated from Robert College and completed his higher education in civil engineering at the University of Michigan. Along with his friend Feyyaz Berker, he established Tekfen Holding, one of Turkey's largest companies. He co-founded the TEMA Foundation, focused on combating erosion and environmental conservation, with Hayrettin Karaca on September 11, 1992. Gökyiğit passed away in Istanbul on January 25, 2023, and was buried in Edirnekapı Martyr's Cemetery.
